Colusa County Community Advocates for Parents & Children (CAPC) is the designated Child Abuse Prevention Council for Colusa County. As a local nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to supporting children and families throughout our community and working alongside local agencies, organizations, and community partners to help prevent child abuse and strengthen families.

Our mission is to help create a community where children are valued, nurtured, and protected, giving every child the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential. We envision strong, healthy families surrounded by a supportive community and resources that help them succeed. Through collaboration and partnerships, we work to connect children and families with services, support, and opportunities that help them achieve their goals.

Looking for ways you can help?

Have you considered opening your heart and your home to a child? Becoming a Resource Family is a great way to help children who are currently in out-of-home care by providing a child with the feeling of safety, permanence, and well-being.

Resource Family Approval (RFA) is a family-friendly and child-centered caregiver approval process that combines elements of the current foster parent licensing, relative approval processes, and approvals for adoption and guardianship and replaces those processes.
